Greetings OPE Friends & Followers, We hope that the summer has been treating everyone well and that folks are finding time to get outside or on the water to enjoy some boating & back road adventures. Here at OPE, we have taken turns going on our own off-grid adventures to keep the spirit alive of why we do what we do. Here are some snippets of OPE’s summer happenings:. During an informal field test, the Solbian Energy Flyer convincingly beat out the competition supplied by some friends during a Warren Island camping trip. Clearly I should have warned them of our superior product before they spent their hard earned money on Amazon! Brady has left our office full time to work on software development but is still a partner in OPE and is taking the lead on our solar testing project. Here, he is doing a side by side test of the SP78 and the SR+78. We will publish the results from our summer testing runs this fall in our tech blog. We are finally getting our stock of solar panels built back up after the COVID-related production pauses in Italy and San Jose, CA. We have also moved our Firefly battery stock to a closer warehouse location just in time for the ramp up in production after the COVID-19 lockdown in India. Some exciting new systems that we supplied have been finished up & commissioned including a full system on an HH66 Cat (above) & an Integrel system installed by Marine Electric Systems in Annapolis, MD, among others. Kadey Krogen is about to start installation of a full system we designed at their facility in Taiwan. We will keep you posted on the progress. Check out this video walk-thru of an impressive installation by Marine Electric Systems in Annapolis, MD. The OPE designed system includes Lithionics batteries with Victron charging and monitoring and an MGDC high output alternator.
